HBO

Bodø Regional University (HBO)

HBO has participated in a previous EU-project on sea urchin aquaculture (FAIR-CT96-1623 BFN), and has maintained an experimental sea urchin hatchery since 1996. The college is now in the process of upgrading to university status. HBO offers undergraduate programs in fisheries and natural science, and will soon be offering a master degree in marine science, which will be expanded into a Ph.D. program by 2005. The infrastructure at the Marine Laboratory has recently been upgraded with a new large capacity seawater supply, and is currently being expanded with new buildings.
